Valley
West Drive Bridge and all ramps are now open.
Description:
The
interchange was reconstructed and the bridge over
I-235 replaced. The reconstructed interchange includes
a new ramp for northbound traffic on Valley West
Drive (VWD) entering eastbound
I-235. A noise wall was constructed on the south
side of the freeway between 33rd and 28th streets
in West Des Moines.
Closure
Schedule: March 31, 2003 to November 14, 2003.
Valley West Drive was closed to traffic at the freeway
while the new bridge was constructed.

Construction of the ramps serving this interchange were
staged so some access could be maintained during various
stages of construction. Ramps under construction were
typically closed six to eight weeks,
